Last year, APG founded a team to find ways to reduce energy consumption and waste. The Kill-O-Watt team, headed by engineer Rick Murdock, met last week to discuss the success of the past year’s conservation projects. Although the group accomplished many energy efficient changes this past year, the team’s ultimate goal was to reduce energy consumption and waste by at least 10% over the previous year. APG is excited to announce that they exceeded their goal by over 10% in every category including reductions in kilowatts/joules of energy used, natural gas, gallons of water, and waste recycling.

Out of a large list of the items completed by team Kill-O-Watt last year, it’s easy to see the impact on conservation. From new chemicals in the paint line to lower temperatures and reduced natural gas, to a new closed process water loop system to reuse water and reduce reheating of water, they’re many changes at APG. “It’s obvious that this team has a lot to be proud of,” states Murdock. “We went into this year knowing that we wanted to make a difference. New technology allows for more efficient and green designs. Our whole team collaborated on this project and we are very proud of our results.
